Thank you for your interest in Bellevue’s Buried History Cemetery Tour! This tour was made possible by the generous contributions of time, talent, and financial resources of many people. Our 2013 tour took place on Oct. 6th.
Thank you to our keynote speaker Captain David Hancock for the inspirational speech you shared with us. To view a copy of his speech click here.
Special thanks goes to the City of Bellevue, owner of the Bellevue Cemetery. The City has not only given us permission to use the cemetery, but supported this event from the get-go. This includes Mike Francis and Todd Addison of the Parks Department and cemetery crew members Jason Houghtaling and Blake Yount. The cemetery crew have done a lot of behind-the-scenes work to make this event possible.
Thank you to the many volunteers who gave their time & talents to this tour including those from the Omaha Organization for the Purpose of Storytelling.
Thank you to the Bellevue Cemetery Committee for supporting this event. Thank you to Ben Justman, executive director of the Sarpy County Museum, who provided much of the historical information presented on the tour and volunteer coordination.
Thank you to the friends and family members of those featured on the tour for your support. Families were generous with photos and letters, such as the ones written by Captain Lawrence A. Pelton to his family (to see portions of those letters click here)
We appreciate our many sponsors that financially supported this event. Proceeds from this tour will be evenly split between the Bellevue Cemetery and the Sarpy County Museum.
And lastly, thank you to those who have attended the tour. We hope to see you again at next year’s tour!
